My name is Richard Marcinko. I am a community health care worker and a peer recovery coach (CHW/CRS) through Roadway to Recovery. I also work as a case manager/substance counselor through Family Links in Terre Haute, Indiana. I have an Associate of Science in Radiography and Bachelor of Science in General Studies, concentration on Behavioral and Social Sciences through Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI).
I am currently working on my Master's in Addiction Counseling through Liberty University. I have worked in the behavioral health and medical field for over 15 years. I have worked at two level one trauma centers in the emergency department at Eskenazi Health and Indiana University Methodist Hospital for 11 years. I helped start up the HIV/HCV program at Eskenazi Health Emergency Department. I have worked at Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine as a Research Specialist. I was co-incharge of multiple heart failure studies, a study with project POINT and more at both level one trauma centers in Indianapolis.
I helped start up the new Neurodiagnostic Institute (NDI)/Community East Hospital as a behavioral health clinician. I have worked at multiple addiction treatment centers around the state. I helped start up NewDay Residential Treatment Center in Bloomfield, Indiana. My most recent treatment Center was Pinnacle Treatment Center in Martinsville, Indiana where I worked as a counselor. The part I love the most about my job is seeing the transformation that our clients make from the time they arrive until the time they leave.
